Chapter Two: Outtake- Emmet

Chapter Two: Outtake/Teaser
Emmet's Point of View
I stepped though the doors that I had seen Jasper run through a few minutes before. I saw that there were some books and papers laying together on the ground. I walked over and gathered them up, knowing they were Jazz's. He must have dropped them when he really started running. I scanned the campus, hoping that I would be able to find my friend. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary and I worried that I wouldn't be able to find him, to be there to help pick up the pieces that had finally fallen down around him.

I looked toward the track. Knowing Jazz, he would run that way. Jasper once told me that the track was where he would go to think and clear his head. He told me that sometimes, even if he just went for a run, he ended up sitting in the bleachers around the track thinking in the peaceful openness.

I took off walking quickly in that direction. I stopped when I found him; he was in the middle of the football field curled into the fetal position. I was behind him, close enough to see but far enough away so that he had time to let the tears, that I knew he needed to get out, go. I hung back near the edge of the bleachers. I leaned against side of the seats for what seemed like hours watching my best friend's body shake and shudder with the force of the sob's I could hear, even at this distance, breaking from his chest.
